1000'S OF MAGAZINES........... INFORMATION OVERLOAD

 

 

How many books can there be that say the same crap but just use different words? Oh, I know—let’s use some big words so people think we are smart.

 

Here it is folks... Fitness is simple. Pick up a bottle of water... now lift it over your head. There it is--you just did one rep of a workout. Not bad... now drink that bottle and refill it enough times to equal at least 64oz. of water a day.  Nutrition is simple burn more calories than you eat.  

 

This is a simple plan of action, but it is not easy.  Getting is shape, and staying in shape can and will be the hardest, and one of the most rewarding tasks you will ever take on.

 

If you are as fed up as I am with all the information out there... some good, (most bad), then call or e-mail me to find out how my fitness plan(s) can help you out.  You can buy a book, you can get a magazine, buy a piece of equipment, but who will be there to make sure you are safe, using good form, showing you the best way to train?

 

Here is a little about my road on the fitness highway.

 

Sixteen years ago, I started my fitness journey. I didn't have a trainer. I used the info from the biggest guy in the gym and he took me under his wing. In just over a year, I went from 135 lb. Skinny Dork to a 190 lb. Beefy Dork. All that hard work came crashing down when I got burned from my waist to my knees with hot water from a steam pipe. I was serving in the US Navy when this happened (more about that on the about Scott section).

 

Here is what I learned... Fitness couldn't prevent what happened to me, but it did help me heal faster. Fitness doesn't cure cancer, but it gives you a better chance to fight it if you do get it. Fitness won’t cure lots of things, but it sure as hell makes life better. Imagine not being able to walk when you once ran five-minute miles. I have done tons of things wrong in my life. Learn with me from the mistakes I’ve made, and let me help you become a healthier person.

How do I lose weight?

 

Let me give you a simple answer.  Burn more calories than you take in, but make sure not to go below you BMR/RMR. 

 

Was is BMR/RMR?

 

It is Basal Metabolic Rate/Resting Metabolic Rate.  This is the number of Calories you need for everyday life.

 

Do I need to take a protein shake and if so which one?

 

In my opinion only if you are not getting enough protein from your food.  As for which one.  I go on taste I find one I like and I stick with it.  I prefer a Vanilla Whey Protein from Quickstar.  It is good quality and a good price.  Vanilla seems to mix well with fruits and what ever else you may put in there.

 

How many Reps should I do?

 

15, 100  Your body doesn't know if you did 12 or 50 it just knows you are working.

If you are not getting the results you want then change it up. 

 

How do I know when to increase the weight I am lifting?

 

If you are doing 3 sets of 10, and on the last set reps 8,9, and 10 feel easy then you are ready to move up.  

 

Will my body grow using the same routine?

 

Depends on who you ask.  I say yes.  Listen if you are doing a Shoulder Press with Dumbbells and the next time you "TRICK" your body by using a Barbell you are not tricking it.  The body knows tired and not tired working hard and not working hard.  Work harder every workout.  Sure if you change the equipment you will use sligthly different muscles, but you will not trick your body.

It is like this if you wanted to trick your car would you put oil in the gas tank.  No you would use better gas for the gas tank. 

 

I gained 65lbs of mass and didn't change my routine for over a year.  The only difference in workouts would be using a barbell or a dumbbell.  Changing things up helps you from getting bored.

 

Do the gadgets on late nigtht T.V. work?

 

Anything works if you use it.  You could go buy the fancy ab machine, but if you hang clothes on it, it wont work.  Just get off your ASS and move that is what really works.
